Kathleen’s canvases have been described as soft, mellow,
beautiful, peaceful landscapes. Albion artist, Judith Greenleaf
comments, “Her work falls along a continuum ranging from
photo-realism to impressionism. The paintings have a lot of
feeling . . . . . a lot of soul.” The artist says of her own
canvasses, “I love nature. I love to hike, and really, I am
happiest when in nature. I think that passion transfers into
my work.” She adds, “I hope you feel transported to a place
of stillness, peace, and tranquility when viewing my art.”
Kathleen has lived in California 34 years and is a graduate of
Washington Hospital School of Nursing, 1967, and the
University of California at Berkeley, 1991, majoring in history.
Born and raised in Falls Church, Virginia, Kathleen is a largely self-taught artist, who started painting
in 2001 when she moved to the northern California coast at The Sea Ranch. She is best known for her
inspiring paintings of the “Golden Hills of California,” which are owned privately on both the East and
West coasts.
