I paint landscapes – sometimes realistically –
sometimes with more abstraction. I work in oil,
pastel, and less frequently, watercolor.  My
influences are Turner, Moran, Homer, Cezanne,
Whistler and Diebenkorn.

I try to evoke an essential response to my
paintings – a reaction in which something in the
image goes beyond simple recognition to touch a
remembrance, an innate or subliminal knowledge
that says “yes, I know this place”.
